Qeswachaka Bridge Tour
Overview
In this tour you will know one of the little known places on the route of the southern valley of Cusco, is located above the Apurimac River which has a distance of 15 meters high. It belonged to the road network of the Qhapaq Ñan or Inca trail, it is one of the Inca bridges that still maintains intact its authenticity since it is made of puna or ichu straw. About 1,000 inhabitants of the nearby communities are responsible for rebuilding it annually in the month of June.
Itinerary
We will start our adventure at 04:30 am. with the pick up of our passengers from their hotels. Our first stop will be in Combapata, where we will stop to use the restrooms and enjoy a continental breakfast in a family home.
Then we will continue our tour for another hour and we will arrive to the district of Q’ewe where we will find the famous Inca bridge of “Q’eswachaka” which is built with vegetable fiber and has a length of 28.67 meters.
After visiting the impressive Q’eswachaka bridge we will return to Combapata to enjoy our lunch, once we have lunch we will make a digestive walk until we arrive to a viewpoint where we will appreciate the lagoons of: Pampamarca and Asnacqocha, then we will go to another point of a viewpoint where we will appreciate the lagoons of Acopía and Pomacanchi observing a large amount of regional flora and fauna experiencing an enriched Andean culture. Finally we will board our transportation to return to the city of Cusco.
